Raven Decuir is a single mother and advocate for others who have experienced homelessness. In 2014, Raven and her two sons were forced into experiencing homelessness as a result of divorce. After nine months of temporary shelter at the Bethany Homeless Center, they were able to find permanent housing using a housing voucher from the Housing Authority.

In 2017, Raven enrolled in the Family Self-Sufficiency Program to develop the financial skills needed to set her on the path to homeownership. In March 2020, Raven was selected for the Habitat for Humanity Golden Empire homeownership program. Raven helped build her home with her sons as a contribution towards equity on her home loan balance.

Service Coordinator, Michelle Way, help guide her to complete her goals and continues to encourage her throughout her journey of success.

Raven has met all her goals and graduated from the FSS program. Raven is now a first-time homeowner and can provide a better quality of life for her children.
